Physical movement brings me joy and a sense of wellbeing. I have an love for teaching and a trained eye for proper alignment and the biomechanics of movement.
Physical movement brings me joy and a sense of wellbeing. I was a competitive swimmer and have competed in 3 Boston Marathons, numerous Olympic distance triathlons, 25 all-female Beach to Bay relay marathons, Century cycling road rides, and most recently competed in both a Women’s Figure and a Woman’s Physique bodybuilding competition. All that has been possible through the practice of classical Pilates. I have been training Pilates clients since 2007.
I’m passionate about the unique body, and improving functional movement through classical Pilates. I have a trained eye for proper alignment and biomechanics of movement. Concentration (of mind) centering and control (of body) breathing, precision (of exercise) and flow (transitioning seamlessly from one exercise to the next) are the key concepts to a successful Pilates practice. Additional benefits include deeper core awareness, improved spine mobility, strength, endurance, energy and a sense of elation and EMPOWERMENT! Trust me to hold you accountable and guide you toward your goals.
I have a Bachelor of Science in Biology/Health from New Mexico State University and certifications in Peak Pilates Comprehensive Mat & Reformer Instructor, TRX, AFAA Personal Trainer, and Swim Coach / Aquatics Instructor certifications.
My life adventures include competing in 30 Beach to Bay marathon relays, numerous marathons (including the Boston Marathon), triathlons, body building competitions, and completing a 5 day trek on the Inca Trail to Machu Piccu.
